I've read the story of Joseph many times and I'm sure many of you have also. But I've never considered the viewpoint of his brothers. I mean. seemingly Jo was at the least boastful. Although his dreams came from God he was never asked to share them. Look, I'm not saying it's his fault he was favored. What I am saying is that the brother could of used just a smidget of discretion, compassion and a sprinkle of grace. Like come on now, be real for a second. Your sibling tells you" Hey I dreamed you all are going to bow down to me". That would not have gone over to well with my siblings for sure. Can you imagine the looks on their faces when the dream came true? Jo promoted as the manager of the brothers, treated with extreme favoritism and to top it off given a coat. Now can you see where the brothers were coming from? I mean throwing him into a pit and selling him was a bit much.
However, If we are honest we all have times where we see other people being "blessed" promoted or "favored", and lets be real, if we aren't careful, feelings of jealousy, envy or discontentment enter our hearts and minds.
Here is what I've learned ladies. What God has for me is for me! His plan for my life will come to pass, in HIS timing. We don't have to allow ungodly feelings to plague our hearts. We can chose to rejoice with others, knowing our God is Sovereign and knows what's best for you and I. You are not forgotten! Just as Joseph's brothers were provided for so will The Most High provide for you. We have to take our eyes off of people, trust God and keep it moving.💜
